McLean Village Players Star in an Unusual Fashion Show
Eight McLean Village “super models” recently participated in a “play on words” original fashion show titled,
Breaking Free from Gee-Vin-Chee. As an alternative to expensive French designer clothing, the models created their own original American designs, incorporating everything from pieces of fruit, pencils, helmets, wire springs, tin cans, cotton balls, manila envelopes, tea bags, elbow macaroni, balloons and burnt toast into their designs. Amidst laughter and applause, the models showed off their designs, while Fashion Commentator, Carol Carlisle, stated to the ladies and gentlemen in the audience that they no longer needed to be “slaves to French design, or spend exorbitant sums in order to be in the forefront of fashion. Haute couture is a mere step away for all of us – in the kitchen…in the bathroom…in the garage. Ladies and gentlemen, ask NOT for whom the bell tolls: it tolls for “Gee-Vin-Chee.”
